We open at 6:15am and book on the hour. Workouts are 1-hour long. In the afternoon, we book every hour starting at 1:30pm. The last workout starts at 7:30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 6:30pm on Tuesdays and 4:30pm on Fridays.

I originally chose JKC to help me rehab following back surgery. JKC was the first gym where a trainer took the time to help me identify my goals and tailor my workouts to achieve them in a safe and doable manner. šš¼Ā Jon & Thomas are both highly professional and knowledgeable.Ā šØš¼āš With their guidance and informative explanationsĀ š£ they have enabled me to reach my ever evolving goals. I saw an article in Menās Journal that quoted Jon in about 2018 while traveling and was impressed that someone in St. Johnās made that international magazine.Ā Jon spoke about an exercise called the Farmerās Walk and I started working that into my routine at the YMCA.Ā I tore that article out of the magazine and kept it, meaning to make contact, but got busy. Then I had lunch with an old friend Bruce Dyke.Ā I hadnāt seen Bruce for a while and I remarked that he looked super healthy and fit.Ā He told me about his, and his son Casā, experience at JKC and then I remembered the Menās Journal article!Ā No coincidences!
The experience is unique on many levels ā great people, camaraderie, passion, purpose, and dedication. Jon and Thomas are attentive, precise and understanding.Ā Their teaching has unlocked a new perspective for me with what our bodies are capable of. I still appreciate the YMCA, wonderful place, but I canāt imagine working out without Jon and Thomas now.
I’m 40 years old & started training at JKC in 2015. The gym I was working out at closed and my husband recommended JKC. JKC meets you where you are in your fitness journey and tailors the work to help achieve your goals. I’ve trained with Jon & Thomas pre pregnancy, while pregnant and now post baby and they have helped me enormously to stay fit through all life phases.
I joke with the guys often that I’ve seen no change in my fitness level since joining the gym, but the reality is I’m in far better shape at 40 than I ever was at 30 thanks to them.
I chose JKC because I was looking for something different. Iāve seen and done the trendy workout programs before, I was looking for something that I knew I could see myself still doing a year from now! JKC has a lot of clients that have been going for years. That was a huge motivator for me! The small group coaching sessions are great and I really enjoy the format. Itās nice having 2-4 people working-out with you during your session. The camaraderie is great, everyone is very upbeat and positive – zero gym judgment!
A few years ago, I pinched a nerve in my neck which led me to be stationary as any form of movement would cause extreme pain. During this time, my fiancĆ© (Sean) started at JKC and loved it!! Once I overcame the nerve issue, Sean spent a long time trying to convince me that JKC is exactly what I needed to safely start working out again (Iām slightly stubborn and was super scared of re-pinching the nerve). Long story short, Sean was right⦠as much as I hate to admit it!
I never had luck at gyms, if it started to hurt I would call it a day. At JKC that is not an option, as Jon & Thomas will push you to finish the workout, whether you want to or not! Working out in a group setting is also a big benefit of working out at JKC, if youāre not feeling motivated you can simply feed off of someone else’s energetic vibes.
